Conventional automatic door sensors have installation limitations and detection blind spots. When approaching from the side, the door may fail to open or require manual activation (e.g., waving), creating safety hazards. For individuals with mobility impairments, prolonged presence in the doorway can trigger unintended closure, posing significant risks.

To address these issues, traditional solutions require additional sensors, increasing time and costs. In contrast, GEO’s multi-functional door sensor eliminates blind spots with a single device, ensuring safe access for wheelchair users, children, and others with limited mobility—without the need for separate safety beam sensors.

Unlike standard sensors prone to false triggers from leaves, debris, or wind, GEO’s sensor offers an adjustable detection range (30cm to 5m) for reliable side-entry detection.

GEO’s specialized automatic sensors can be used in: Cold storage warehouses, Saunas, Kitchens, Entrances, etc.

Differences between the far-infrared radiation safety sensors and the existing safety beam sensors

Far-infrared radiation safety sensor (GEO Corporation)

■ Installed on the bottom surface of the upper control box
■ Designed to scan a space that starts from the upper portion of the door and extends into the bottom
ㆍNo detection blind spots
ㆍCapable of scanning the proximate areas, including the door itself
※ The door can be easily opened again with an approaching motion due to its large detection area
■ Top embedded-type (integrated with the controller)
ㆍEasy to install (only need to make a 30ø hole)
■ Capable of scanning the entire door
■ No malfunctions even when exposed to sunlight/vibration/lighting

Existing safety beam sensor (near-infrared sensor)

■ Installed in the left and right frames of the automatic door
■ Designed to produce scan lines from one side to the other
ㆍResulting in detection blind spots
ㆍUnable to fully detect the door that is moving
■ Unable to detect any objects beyond the linear detection range
■ Unable to detect any objects in the very proximity of the door
■ Complex Installation Issues
ㆍDifficulty adding safety beams post-automatic door installation
ㆍRequires drilling two precisely aligned holes in stainless steel
ㆍConduit wiring within stainless steel necessary
■ Prone to malfunctions caused by sunlight, vibration, or ambient lighting.
